I'm Elena, but I'll also answer to Vassilissa or Vass. I used to use the net-name Katisha, but I'm retiring that.

I live in Ascot Vale with my cat Beatrice, my flatmate
nomnivore, and her cat Jerry, where we enjoy taking naps. I write about Melbourne, books I've read, fanfic (including slash), comics, singing and opera, religion, politics, feminism (and other isms, including racism, classism and disablism,) queer stuff, mental health stuff, light verse, Classics, and if you're very unlucky, Care Bears and My Little Ponies. Sometimes I try to get more proficient with Unix. I'm longwinded, and I use parenthesis too much. I'm a vegan, but I'm not into recruiting.Friending, filtering etc policy: this journal is mostly friends-locked. If you're on my reading list, you can read my default filter, where maybe 95% of the content is. I filter the heavier stuff more tightly, for your sake and my own. If I've friended you, it's probably because I wanted to read what you write. If you've friended me and I know who you are, I'll probably add you back. I sometimes go through random declutterings of my friends-list, and it's nothing personal, just a time thing.
Uh, note for Russian-speakers or anyone else who friended me specifically because I have a Russian username? I'm not Russian and do not speak Russian. Sorry. Feel free to friend me anyway if you want, but there will be no Russian content here.
