mc_shamo and Hector just left. It was good to see Chris and Seamus for the first time since Chris gave birth, and to meet Hector for the first time.Hector is an extremely charming baby. All he had to do was smile, and I was a goner.
Beatrice was a tougher audience. I think I can safely say that Beatrice is not pro-baby. She didn't like my closing all the doors so I only had to baby-proof the living-room. She didn't like Hector from a distance. And she didn't like Hector up close and trying to hit her.
But then Chris changed Hector's nappy, and Hector, who doesn't like lying on his back, started yelling at the top of his lungs. And suddenly Beatrice jumped down from her perch on the top of the scratching post, and cautiously approached Hector. Judging by her expression, she was impressed by the volume and wished to learn his technique.
